About the Team

We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Claims and Insurance Department, part of our Risk team. You will be working closely with the Risk team specialising in the management of claims, dealing with all aspects of processing and handling of the Group’s liability, equipment and commercial claims. You will be required to develop effective relationships while contributing to internal and external procedures, providing insight and implementing the latest legal developments on regulations and compliance in the industry. Full training will be provided. Some travel may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.


Your responsibilities

  • Be responsible for proficient handling of claims from first notice to closure, coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the evaluation, processing, and handling of claims and specific insurances within the Den Hartogh Group;
  • Serve as a point of contact between the organization, its insurance partners, claimants, and policyholders, facilitating communication and clarifying coverage eligibility for pertinent claims;
  • Review claims to make sure that billing requirements are met, queries answered, and make recommendations for resolutions preventing incidents and reducing risks;
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders in the recovery of extra costs related to insurance/claims;
  • Contribute to the internal procedures, highlight and report incidents/operational trends which pose a liability risk to the organisation, and follow the latest legal developments on regulations and compliance in the industry giving advice to the business.

Job requirements

About you

  • An Associate or Bachelor Degree in a relevant area (International transport, law, etc.);
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of insurance and claims, with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a dynamic international (supply chain) organization;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills to work with all levels of management and other colleagues, and manage customer expectations;
  • A positive and hands-on team mentality, proactively, analytical, problem solving skills, accuracy.
  • Knowledge WFT Schade private and business and experience with customs;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, written and verbal.
